The latest makeup trend taking over TikTok is inspired by the warm, golden tones of a sunset. Enter Sunset Blush. Makeup lovers are always looking for new techniques to innovate and play with and blush has been a clear protagonist present in most beauty looks this year. We all love a blush. With varying shades, formats, and textures available on the market, blush is one of the most versatile makeup products, so, naturally, its uses are continually being reinvented. As beauty creators experiment with different application techniques, we get trends that we would not even have imagined a few years ago. Inspired by the warmth of the sky at sunset, creator Alissa Holmes (@alissajanay1) was the first person to put Sunset Blush in our radars. What is Sunset Blush, you ask? Well, it's the latest makeup technique that combines the pigmentation of blush with the goodness of highlighter. (Think of summertime blush with extra sunkissed vibes!) The curious thing about this trend is that far from being comfortable with the natural blush effect that we normally seek to achieve, it takes it to the extreme and brings a vibrant touch to our cheeks. To achieve this, Alissa Holmes applies two drops of liquid blush in a fuchsia shade just above the cheeks, followed by two more drops in a more orange color. Then, she adds a dab of highlighter (liquid, preferably) on top of these droplets, making sure not to overlap the products. With the help of a medium-sized brush, she gently blends the products on her cheeks and recommends lightly lifting the fuchsia blusher up to the temples for an even more radiant look and to lengthen the face. To finish her Sunset Blush makeup, the influencer adds subtle eyeliner and glossy lips outlined in brown, creating a perfect look for the coming summer days.
